Utility Warehouse’s Cashback Card Makes Christmas Shopping Affordable

The average Brit spends a whopping £1,116 at Christmas. But the figure could be quite different this year. If there’s one thing we’re more worried about than ever this season, it’s money. Sadly, redundancies and furloughs mean that many people are struggling to afford their usual festivities. Since March, the number of UK payroll employees has dropped by 782,000, and job losses are affecting everyone, everywhere – even in some of the UK’s wealthiest areas. For example, around one in seven people in Cheshire are now claiming Universal Credit, while Hertsmere (Hertfordshire) has seen a 142% rise in Universal Credit claims.

However, like all the festive and religious holidays that have taken place in COVID-19’s shadow, Christmas is going ahead. And while the pandemic can’t stop anyone from putting up their tree or watching their favourite festive films, Christmas shopping can pose more of a challenge. Now, more than ever, we need to cut back and save money, but we also want to give our friends and family a great Christmas. Luckily, Utility Warehouse (UW) has come up with a simple way to help you shop and save money at the same time.

UW’s Cashback Card

UW is widely known as the UK’s only genuine multiservice provider, which bundles customers’ home services into one simple and great value monthly bill so they can make savings and escape the stress of managing multiple utility providers. But UW offers so much more than this. Delve a little further and you’ll find a wealth of other benefits that UW provides to make life easier. Amongst these, UW’s cashback card offers a fantastic way to save while shopping at your favourite retailers, making Christmas shopping more affordable. UW’s customers have already taken out over 300,000 cards to save money.

All customers qualify for the interest-free, prepaid card, which they can use to earn up to 7% cashback when shopping at participating retailers. These retailers include Sainsbury’s, Boots, Halfords, Thorntons, Ernest Jones, Goldsmiths, Argos, B&Q, Wilko, Primark, River Island, Waterstones, The Works, and M&S, amongst others. Customers can also earn 1% cashback at any retailer, regardless of UW partnerships, simply by using their UW cashback card to pay for their shopping.

How UW’s Cashback Card Works

Customers can shop with as many or as few of UW’s retail partners as they like, both in-store and online. They can also claim cashback on top of special offers and sale prices to save even more. Because of the pandemic, online shopping is the safest way to shop this Christmas. But UW’s retail partners have lots of fantastic gifts available online, and UW customers will earn cashback from the comfort of their own homes when they use their cashback card at checkout.

Shopping with the UW cashback card is easy. Customers can top up their card by logging into their UW Clubhouse app or online account. They can then use their card to shop at a few dozen stores while collecting cashback. When bill time comes around, customers don’t need to log into their online accounts or complete long-winded forms to claim their cashback. Instead, UW automatically deducts any cashback earned from their monthly home services bill, clearly communicating the customer’s savings.

About UW

UW is a FTSE 250 company that allows you to bundle your home services into a single, great value monthly bill so you don’t have to keep track of multiple boring utility accounts. UW has bundled more than 2.5 million utility services for its customers to date, providing packages to meet each customer’s specific needs. Plus, UW provides up to £200 to cover any early termination fees so customers can easily move from their existing providers.

Awards

Over the past couple of decades, UW has won a series of awards that celebrate its customer-driven services and overall value for money. This year, the consumer champion “Which?” has presented the multiservice provider with its Utilities Brand of the Year award, an accolade UW also received in 2018. “Which?” has endorsed UW as a Recommended Provider over 30 times, more than any other home services provider. On top of this, USwitch has also highlighted UW for its Best Energy Saving Support award this year.

Authorised UW Partners

Instead of paying for expensive advertising campaigns, UW has grown its customer base of 650,000 through word-of-mouth recommendations from its network of 45,000 Partners. These independent distributors set up their own businesses to sign up new customers and Partners to earn residual income and financial rewards, such as hampers, holidays, and subsidised car leases. As so many people have lost their jobs to the pandemic, UW’s Partner opportunity is ideal for those who now need to earn additional income.

Green Initiatives

Aside from simplifying utility bills for customers and helping business-minded individuals to earn as Partners, UW also helps customers and Partners to do their bit for the environment. Not only does UW provide 100% renewable electricity through its green fixed tariff, but customers who take all of UW’s home services receive free LED light bulbs and installation. The service is typically worth £300–£500. The energy-efficient bulbs can then reduce their electricity bills by a further 15%, forever. On top of this, UW installs smart meters to help keep customers’ energy levels down. These smart meters automatically send readings to UW, so customers don’t have to read their meters or worry about estimated bills. UW also runs The UW Foundation, a not-for-profit venture that supports Plastic Oceans UK, donates to local charities that align with UW’s green ethos, and provides funding to plant a tree for every customer who bundles all home services.
